Municipal Electrical Services

Traffic Signals

Preventative and corrective maintenance -- as well as the use of quality materials -- decreases the cost of operating and maintaining a traffic signal infrastructure.

With more than 50 years of service, we currently maintain traffic signal systems and pedestrian crossings in multiple municipalities in Ontario -- providing safe, reliable and efficient operation for roadway users. All our traffic signal technicians are certified by the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA).

Our offering includes:

  • preventative maintenance services
  • modifications
  • 24/7 emergency repairs
  • planned upgrades
  • new installations

Preventative Maintenance

A large part of maintenance work is inspecting or replacement of traffic control equipment before it fails, which includes semi-annual inspections and testing of control equipment, intersection hardware, vehicle detector loops, pedestrian push buttons, poles, signs, signal heads and mounting hardware.

Corrective Maintenance

Corrective maintenance is performed on an as needed basis. We are committed to fast, professional response by traffic signal technicians and electricians with consideration of the seriousness of problems reported by the public, municipalities and emergency services.

Modifications/Upgrades

Traffic signal modifications or upgrading result from additional control needs, advances in technology, infrastructure renewal or roadway changes such as:

  • installation of audible/accessible devices
  • installation of communications cable and equipment for communications between intersections
  • pedestrian push button upgrades with a more reliable design
  • replacement of existing traffic signal poles, and equipment
  • implementation of vehicle detection
  • LED (light emitting diode) installations

Lighting

Our complement of staff perform installation and preventative maintenance work as well as 24/7 emergency response on all types of lighting systems including:

  • streetlight / roadway
  • parking lot
  • sports and recreational fields
  • municipal parks
  • sentinel and emergency lighting
